THE AFRICAN WINNERS RENDEZVOUS IN THE NIGER DELTA (PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA)
The brief visit to Port Harcourt, Nigeria by the leader of African Cultural Awareness Oslo and Young Immigrant TV, Mr. Elvis Chi Nwosu, provided the opportunity for informasjon, inspiration and network building. An interactive session with the four winners from Nigeria: Tunde Aboderin, Illeyasu Kasimu, Busayo Iremhobe and Akouk Nwatum on the need to make Africa proud by making a film on Climate change that matters.

The meeting was fixed for the 5th of January to the 8th in Port Harcourt at Laritel Hotels where the winners were lodged and also served as the venue of the meetings on the goals of NUFFGLOBAL action for climate change.
The meetings provided an overview of what Nuffglobal is about and the quality of films that were envisaged for production. Coincidentally, all the winners are students of the National Film Institute in Jos in the Northern part of Nigeria.
The winners were already intermediate professionals in film making and had good experiences. We also learnt that one of the winners, Tunde Aboderin is currently undergoing his internship Training (IT) with Nigerian legendary film maker, Tunde Kelani.
The winners were very excited about the interactive session in Port Harcourt and promised to ensure a production of quality climate change films for the Nuffglobal competition, as they understood the slogan “THE BETTER YOUR FILM, THE MORE RELEVANT IT WILL BECOME”.

It was a rendezvous of sorts as barbeque dinner was held at the Port Harcourt country home of Mr. Elvis Chi Nwosu, providing focus for the Nuffglobal West African Team. The meeting was financed by African Cultural Awareness in Oslo Norway.
I am looking forward to the competition in Trømso and the conference in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
With love from Africa, Nigeria, Christopher Uche Roberts.
